Forensic Linguistics Tour
From time to time we review the linguistic evidence in old cases. One such case was that of Timothy John Evans ad John Reginald Christie. The seminal analysis of the police statements in this case was made by Prof. Jan Svartvik in 1969. Prof. Svartvik's evidence was an important contribution to the eventual posthumous pardon given by the Home Secretary. From time to time the Intelligence gets asked to review police statements, witness accounts and trial transcripts from old cases.
