The Forensic Linguistics Intelligence is frequently asked to examine hate mail communications.
The below concerned a particularly tragic case which ended in one of the victims committing suicide. The first example is from a known letter by an individual and the second example is a questioned text in the inquiry. The phrase 'rent boy or group sex' is highly idiosyncratic. There were other parallels between the known and questioned texts but this was the most striking.
As a result of our evidence the sender of these communications was found guilty of sending malicious communications.
